baby stuff

My SIL's friend recently contacted me to make her a couple changing pad covers and a crib skirt.  I fell in love with the fabric!!

I used THIS TUTORIAL for the changing pad cover

and THIS TUTORIAL for the pleated crib skirt

Both are great tutorials!

I spy a second quilt

I finally finished my second I-spy quilt.  Actually, I did the majority of the quilt rather quickly but then I procrastinated with the hand binding (which is the very last step).  But anyway, it's done.  I tried to use a large range of themed squares, and I used the cutest backing fabric ever.  The overall quality of this quilt (as far as construction is concerned) is much better than the first one I made - which makes sense.  Overall I am very happy with it.  I made it with the intent to put it up for sale on my etsy site.....but it's just too darn cute to part with!  Eh, I'll probably put it up.  Or not.  I don't know.  We'll see.  Knowing me I will put it up then take it off then put it up......

dress #2

So, the last dress I made for myself was snug in the chest (and by snug I mean it was uncomfortable and only got tighter as the night went on).  This dress (butterick 5638) was almost the opposite.  The chest is a little loose.  The body of this dress, however, was a little tighter than I would have liked, but I redid the side seams to have less of a seam allowance, and it was good after that.  Overall I was happy with the dress and I plan to wear it again.....and again.  I just have to get better at figuring out, and maneuvering, these patterns.
